The Philadelphia Joint Board, Workers United, is currently engaged in a rerun union representation election for approximately 123 food service workers employed by Chartwells/Compass Group, a subcontractor at Stockton University. We ask that you please take a moment to support our brothers and sisters by sending a message to Stockton University Acting President Harvey Kesselman, urging him to prevail upon Chartwells/Compass Group to respect the right of its workers to a free and fair union election.

The authorization of a rerun election is an uncommon practice and signals that the employer’s anti-union actions were so egregious that they warranted a new election. As a public institution, Stockton University has a responsibility to the community to intervene when a subcontractor mistreats its workers and violates their rights.
The Stockton University website highlights its commitment to building a community that values diversity and inclusion. The website also affirms the importance of promoting a safe, respectful and affirming environment for students, faculty, and staff. However, until the university stands up for its food service workers, it will continue to fall short of these values.
Once again, please CLICK HERE to send a message to Acting President Kesselman, urging him to support Stockton’s food service workers, who deserve the same level of respect as every other university employee. Thank you in advance for your support of these workers and for urging Stockton to uphold our shared community values.
