The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is standing with our brothers and sisters from Teamsters Local 701 to ensure workers get the respect they deserve on the job. We invite all affiliates to join the picket line to protest the egregious actions of Shore Point Distributing Company and to demand that the company negotiate a fair agreement.
The picket line will operate 24/7 in front of the company headquarters located at 100 Shore Point Drive; Freehold, NJ 07728.
Shore Point locked out 113 of its workers on April 30, 2017, in an attempt to force them to give up their pension, accept a 3-year wage freeze, and agree to give the company permission to change their health insurance plan and co-pays at any time. The employer’s take-it-or-leave it approach is a slap in the face to good-faith bargaining and to workers and their families.
We are proud to see that the community has come together to oppose Shore Point’s actions and we urge all sectors of the labor movement to join in this fight. We’d like to specifically recognize ATU Local 824 and their members who didn’t miss a beat when it came to joining the picket line. This is a fight that we can win given your solidarity and support.
