Encourage Commuters to Vote “Yes” On Ballot Question #2
This morning union and community activists, as part of the Working Families United for New Jersey, Inc. “Raise the Wage” campaign, leafleted at 12 of New Jersey’s busiest train stations, encouraging the public to vote “Yes” on Ballot Question #2 to raise the minimum wage. Leafleters explained that voting “Yes” would provide a raise to over 400,000 struggling New Jersey workers, boost consumer purchasing power to spur economic activity, and ensure that the minimum wage rises in step with the costs of goods and services.
The “Raise the Wage” campaign has been to every corner of the state to tout the universal benefits of a minimum wage increase. We in the labor movement are proud to stand in support of Ballot Question #2 which will lift wage scales for all workers and provide more New Jerseyans with a pathway into the middle class. Please vote “Yes” on Ballot Question #2 tomorrow.
