Polls Show Belgard Running Even in Tight 3rd District Congressional Race

Three public opinion polls taken since mid-September show Democrat Aimee Belgard steadily gaining ground, increasing momentum for her campaign and running even in the 3rd District race for Congress. The Huffington Post has labeled the contest one of 20 key House races to watch.

Belgard is a champion of working families who has been endorsed by the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. She needs your help to defeat her Republican opponent, a wealthy businessman who is funding his own campaign.

With Republican U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan retiring from Congress, the race for the open House seat is among the most competitive in the country. Though the district tilts Republican, President Obama carried it by 5 points in 2012, and Democrats see it as a top pick-up opportunity.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO and our affiliates will be out in force from now through Election Day on Nov. 4th working to elect Aimee Belgard to Congress.
