Web Link Instructions
Website links or hyperlinks are used to allow people on the internet to transfer from one website to another simply by clicking on either a series of text or an image. A text hyperlink is indicated by underlined blue colored text. When you scan over hyperlinks, they will cause your mouse pointer to change from an arrow to a pointing hand as shown below:
The procedure for creating a hyperlink is simple and involves a few quick steps:
-
First highlight the text or click on the image you wish to hyperlink.
-
Once the text or image is selected, click on the hyperlink icon which can be found at the top of your editing tool bar. The hyperlink icon is displayed as a globe and chain-link as shown below:
-
Once you click the hyperlink icon a screen will be displayed allowing you to type the web address that you would like your text or image will be linked to. Since we are asking you to link to “The Real Chris Christie” website you should type in www.therealchrischristie.com and then click “ok”:
![]() |
Once you click “ok” your text or image will be hyperlinked. In order to add a hyperlink to a website, you will need to open your website editor and follow these same three steps. If you do not have access to your website editor you will need to contact the person who maintains your website content and ask them to create these links.
When creating your hyperlinks, remember to create as many links as possible. In other words, everywhere the name “Chris Christie” appears, you should create a link to “The Real Chris Christie website”.
Keep in mind, this is one of many ways to create a hyperlink and not all computer systems will display the messages pictured above. If you have any further technical questions about how to setup a hyperlink, please contact Lee Sandberg by phone (609) 989-8730 or via e-mail lsandberg@njaflcio.org
Sample Presiding Officer's Message
In addition to creating links on your local union’s website, we respectfully ask locals to post on the front page of their websites a message from their president or business manager inviting their members to visit www.therealchrischristie.com. Feel free to use the following sample message:
To All Members:
If one thing is apparent about Chris Christie and his campaign, it is that he does not respect workers and their unions. Christie has publicly accused unions of creating an unnecessary burden to taxpayers and providing absolutely no public benefit. He has plotted an all out attack against organized labor and will not stop until he has reversed over 10 years of our collective achievements. Christie promises to layoff thousands of state workers, alter the public employee pension and health care systems, abolish project labor agreements, weaken prevailing wage laws, eliminate paid family leave benefits, support merit pay for teachers, support school vouchers, and reject a worker’s right to form a union through majority sign-up.
The stakes of the upcoming election are clear and higher than ever before. In the coming months we must work together to ensure a victory for working families on Election Day, proving that “Yes We Can – Again! On November 3, 2009”.
We invite you and your family to begin educating one another on Chris Christie by visiting www.therealchrischristie.com.
In Solidarity,
(Presiding Officer)
