New Jersey State AFL-CIO
Retirees Committee
"Retired and still working for the labor movement!"

The NJ State AFL-CIO established the NJ State AFL-CIO Retirees Committee in 1997 to provide an opportunity for New Jersey’s union retirees to stay involved in the labor movement through education, advocacy and activism. The Retirees Committee’s goals are :

To ensure that trade unionists are able to remain active in and informed of the programs, policies and the activities of the NJ State AFL-CIO, affiliated labor organizations and developments which affect the trade union movement of working men and women;

To enable local councils and clubs of retired AFL-CIO trade unionists to coordinate their activities within this state and provide representation for them within the NJ State AFL-CIO Retirees Committee;

To develop programs that educate, assist and mobilize New Jersey’s retired union members and their families.
