Congratulations to IUOE 68 on Organizing Victory at Revel
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates and welcomes to our union family the nine fire command officers at Atlantic City’s Revel Casino. These workers won union representation with IUOE Local 68 following a unanimous vote of 9-0 in an NLRB election after Revel declined to recognize the union through card check.
The fire command officers are responsible for the facility’s fire and life safety systems, a job that impacts the well-being of all Revel employees and patrons. By forming a union these workers can now exercise their voice to maintain the highest degree of safety at Revel and to bargain for a decent standard of living for themselves and their families.
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO once again congratulates these workers on their organizing success. Organizing workers is how we build the labor movement, and building the labor movement is how we restore the middle class.
