New Jersey State AFL-CIO Supports Bergen County BTC Rally to Move American Dream Project Forward
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO, Senator Bob Menendez, Congressman Bill Pascrell, along with many other state and local elected officials joined in support of the Bergen County Building and Construction Trades Council rally to move ahead with the American Dream Project in the Meadowlands. The rally took place this morning prior to a hearing where the building trades continue to fight for final approval of the American Dream Project which would create thousands of needed jobs. This project would create 9,000 construction jobs as well as 5,000 permanent jobs in the food, service, retail, and entertainment industries once completed. With an unemployment rate of 9.9 percent, and thousands of jobs on the line, we cannot afford to delay this project any longer. Aside from creating jobs, this complex would be a new hub of economic activity for our state and a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination in the heart of the Tri-state region.
The American Dream Project puts New Jersey families to work and is the economic boost our state needs. We will continue to join with our affiliates to do everything we can to advance the American Dream Project without delay.
