Sometimes it takes a four-letter word to make your voice heard: VOTE. To make sure you are registered to vote this Election Day, please make sure to follow the steps below:

 

1) Confirm You Are Registered – Everyone should confirm whether they are registered to vote on the New Jersey Division of Elections website http://nj.gov/state/elections.

 

From the homepage, click on “Voter Information” on the left-side table of contents and then click on “Am I Registered” on the right-half of the page. If you are registered great, now may also be a good time to confirm your polling location since it may change from year to year.

 

If you are not registered please make sure to do so.

 

2) Register to Vote – Voter registration forms are available on the www.njaflcio.org homepage. Simply click the “Register to Vote” button on the left-side of the page. After filling out this form make sure to mail it to the New Jersey Division of Elections before the deadline of October 16, 2012.

 

Whether you view voting as a civic duty, as a chance to make your voice heard, as a right won from the struggles of past generations, or as upholding the principles of democracy, it is well worth your while to cast a vote on Election Day this November 6, 2012.
