Voter Registration Deadline is October 16, 2012
Sometimes it takes a four-letter word to make your voice heard: VOTE. To make sure you are registered to vote this Election Day, please make sure to follow the steps below:
1) Confirm You Are Registered – Everyone should confirm whether they are registered to vote on the New Jersey Division of Elections website http://nj.gov/state/elections.
From the homepage, click on “Voter Information” on the left-side table of contents and then click on “Am I Registered” on the right-half of the page. If you are registered great, now may also be a good time to confirm your polling location since it may change from year to year.
If you are not registered please make sure to do so.
2) Register to Vote – Voter registration forms are available on the www.njaflcio.org homepage. Simply click the “Register to Vote” button on the left-side of the page. After filling out this form make sure to mail it to the New Jersey Division of Elections before the deadline of October 16, 2012.
IMPORTANT: All voter registration forms must be postmarked no later than October 16, 2012 for you to be able to vote in this year’s election.
Whether you view voting as a civic duty, as a chance to make your voice heard, as a right won from the struggles of past generations, or as upholding the principles of democracy, it is well worth your while to cast a vote on Election Day this November 6, 2012. Be sure to make your voice heard. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
