CONGRATULATIONS: NY-NJ Car Service Becomes State’s Only 100 Percent Union Car Service Company
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO sincerely congratulates IAM District 15, Local 447 and NY-NJ Car Service on their signing of a voluntary recognition agreement for all drivers, sales agents, and clerical workers employed by the company as well as the signing of a first contract which makes NY-NJ Car Service the only 100 percent unionized car service company in New Jersey.We are extremely proud whenever workers are able to achieve representation on the job, and this case of NY-NJ Car Service is extra special since the company was founded by Jason D’Errico, who is a member of IBEW Local 827 and is currently the President of the Passaic County Central Labor Council.
We praise the example set by our IAM brothers and sisters and NY-NJ Car Service. Furthermore, this serves as a reminder that the simplest and most effective ways to strengthen the labor movement is to support one another.
