Stand with Verizon Workers Fighting for a Fair Contract

Our fight with Verizon is not over yet. As long as workers remain without a contract we must keep the pressure on management. We will not back down because workers have too much at stake. These days, a union contract can make the difference between getting by and getting food stamps. It is unconscionable for a corporation like Verizon, which makes billions of dollars each year, to hold the middle class hostage.

We intend to fight and win this battle. We hope you will join for a rally in New York City to tell Verizon it’s time to negotiate a fair contract.

Date:
Friday, February 3, 2012

Time:
5:30 p.m.

Place:
84 King Street
(Between Hudson St. and Varick St.)
New York, NY 10014

This rally is taking place at the King Street garage because Verizon fired more than 80 workers after the August strike. There are 40 workers who are still fired, one of whom was from 84 King Street. We will show our support for this worker as well as all Verizon workers who are fighting for a contract and a middle class quality of life.

Please contact Lee Sandberg, New Jersey State AFL-CIO at 609-989-8730 with any questions. Thank you for your ongoing support.
