South Jersey Healthcare Nurses Reach Agreement!
Please join the New Jersey State AFL-CIO at a rally to celebrate the tentative agreement reached between the nurses at SJH Regional Medical Center and South Jersey Healthcare.
This rally will take place on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at SJH Regional Medical Center, 1505 West Sherman Avenue, Vineland. This rally will begin at 5:00 p.m.
After an all night bargaining session, the 750 RNs represented by HPAE at South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center have reached a tentative agreement for a first contract. These nurses voted to form a union in July, 2006, and have been working since to obtain a contract.
"This tentative agreement is a major victory not just for these nurses but for working families across New Jersey," stated Charles Wowkanech, President of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. "From the organizing campaign, to the successful election, right through the negotiations which led to this agreement, our brothers and sisters at South Jersey Health Care have stood together in solidarity and are to be commended for their efforts."
