April 4th "Day of Solidarity" VOTE 'NO' on S-2718

April 4th “Day of Solidarity”

Call-in Number: (888) 724-6474

VOTE ‘NO’ ON S-2718

Thank you for your participation in the April 4th “Day of Solidarity”. This day marks the 43rd year since Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination in Memphis, where he was standing with sanitation workers demanding their dream of a better life. By taking action today, you are helping to carry on Dr. King’s legacy of fighting for worker justice and the right to collectively bargain for a middle class life.

Toll Free Call

Once you call the toll free number (888) 724-6474, you will be asked to enter your zip code to be connected to your State Senator’s office.  The recording will tell you the name of your State Senator.

When you speak to the Senator’s staff, ask them to please honor and respect our collective bargaining rights by opposing Senate Bill 2718. Senate Bill 2718 would effectively end our ability to bargain over health care insurance and force public employees, on average, to quadruple the amount they pay for family health care insurance.

Again, please ask them to honor and respect the collective bargaining process and oppose   Senate Bill 2718.

LIVE WEBCAST

You can view the April 4th panel discussion from any computer with an internet connection. The event will be webcast live beginning at 11:00 a.m. at www.workingfamiliesunitedfornj.org. If you miss the live broadcast, you can still see the recording which will be posted to the website.

The roundtable is scheduled for Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. The location is the IBEW Local 269 union hall, 670 Whitehead Road, Trenton, New Jersey.
