Staying Home is Not an Option: Take Action Now
Here’s what’s at stake in this election: job security, pensions, the right to collectively bargain, affordable health coverage, seniority, civil service, a living wage, job opportunities, the list goes on and on.
Therefore, we are calling on every union member to participate in the labor walks and phone banks to let fellow members and their families know exactly what’s at stake in this election and which candidates will stand with us.
Labor walks are commencing throughout the state and will be held every Saturday, through the election. CLICK HERE for the current schedule of walks.
Phone Banks will begin the first week of October. Locations and details will be announced shortly.
We need to preserve the future of organized labor in New Jersey. To do so, we ask you to involve yourselves and your family in our effort to generate record turnouts during the labor to labor walks and phone banks.
We’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Governor Christie’s cuts, and he is ready to up-the-stakes next year. Governor Christie’s toolkit is an assault on workers’ collective bargaining rights, and his cuts place an embargo on working families attempting to join the middle class. The Governor has shown his priority to be the rich and working people are paying the price.
The time to take action is now, we simply cannot afford to stay home and let the Governor define the labor movement. We must define ourselves. We have 39 days to get our message out. We urge you to start today.
