SOLIDARITY PREVAILS: After 2.5 Years, Heldrich Workers Secure First Contract
After more than two years of contract negotiations, an agreement has finally been reached between the Heldrich Hotel and Workers United. This victory is a testament to union solidarity in New Jersey, and shows that no contract battle is too tough to win when we stand together.
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates the hotel workers on their remarkable success and welcomes them to the State Federation. We particularly thank all affiliates who supported this campaign by sending letters directly to the management as well as suspending their business with the Heldrich Hotel. This first contract could not have been achieved without all of us working together. Now that the hotel workers have secured a contract, the New Jersey State AFL-CIO looks forward to once again making use of the hotel and its services.
These workers and their union showed incredible determination and endurance during their contract fight, and we are eager use the momentum from their success to further build the labor movement in New Jersey.
