The Bayonne Bridge Clearance Problem is Soon to Be a Major Impediment to Cargo Vessels Heading to the Ports of New York and New Jersey. Job Loss to Follow if a Solution Isn’t Acted Upon

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO recently testified before two legislative committees urging swift action to remedy the “draft clearance problem” soon to develop relating to the Bayonne Bridge.  If a solution to this problem is not acted upon soon, the economic vitality of the port region, as well as thousands of port related jobs will be at risk.  A remedy to the problem also has the potential to create a significant number of jobs for building and construction trades workers.
