Slot Techs Vote

Earlier this year casino dealers at Caesars in Atlantic City made history by becoming the first gaming employees in the resort's 30-year history to vote for a union. Five months later, as these workers continue to work to reach a fair first contract with Caesars' management, the union voice in Atlantic City continues to grow stronger.

By a vote of 20-11 slot technicians at Caesars voted yesterday to form a union with the United Auto Workers. On September 1, cashiers at Caesars also hope to win a voice at work and become the third group of employees at this worksite to organize with the union.

With more than 2,600 Atlantic City workers voting to form unions this year, and casino dealers poised to cast ballots at the Tropicana resort tomorrow, the union voice has never been stronger. Speaking in a united voice, our newest brothers and sisters in labor will stand up to casino management that has, while rewarding themselves with multi-million dollar compensation packages, cut the wages and health benefits of workers.

We welcome all of these workers to our labor family!
