AFGE Organizing Campaign for Airport Travel Security Officers (TSOs)
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is fighting to ensure collective bargaining rights for airport travel security officers (TSOs) nationwide. This campaign is focused on a total of 41,000 TSOs at 450 of our country’s largest airports, including
Airport security officers play a crucial role in our society, waking up everyday with the charge to defend American lives along with our way of life. However, since the creation of the Travel Security Administration (TSA) in 2001, Bush administration policies have effectively denied the right of TSOs to join a union and bargain for a fair contract. President Barack Obama quickly recognized and corrected this problem, and now, for the first time, TSOs have the chance to join a union.
By supporting this AFGE organizing drive, you can help make sure that the TSOs, who preserve our security, can enjoy for themselves the security that comes from a union contract.
