PHENOMENAL LABOR WALK: Over 600 Volunteers; Over 20,000 Doors Knocked On. Labor Stands Ready to Deliver on Election Day

Union members across the state generated an astounding turnout of over 600 volunteers at one of this year’s first labor walks. This proves to be a significant achievement since this number shatters any previous expectations and estimations for turnout. In fact, working together we doubled the amount of walkers that were out this same time last year for the 2008 General Election.

Over 20,000 doors were knocked on, putting us well on the way to communicating the labor movement’s message before the upcoming election. We all know that times are tough, but we also know that to lift out state out of the economic recession we must elect the candidates that represent our values and will strengthen and protect the middle class.

We can’t thank you enough for volunteering your time. Your efforts have made this first labor walk an outstanding success. There are now 43 days left until the election and this is the momentum we need to maintain for the duration of the campaign.

With this last labor walk, not only have we shown that it is possible for us to win this election, but we have also proved that labor stands united, determined, and absolutely ready to deliver on November 3, 2009.

“Yes We Can – Again! On November 3, 2009.”
