Through affiliation with the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, your members would benefit from our resources which are dedicated to representing union members and their families through the pursuit of strong legislative and political initiatives and by organizing and mobilizing working families throughout our state to support these efforts. The New Jersey State AFL-CIO has a proven track record of securing pro-working family legislation and halting hundreds of bills which would have destroyed jobs and benefits across many sectors of our state.
Additionally, the New Jersey State AFL-CIO has established Service/Industrial, Retiree and Community Service Departments to address the issues facing working families. We also maintain active Public Employee, Health Care Advisory and Organizing Committees. Finally, through our Committee on Political Education (COPE) we have launched a labor candidates program which has led to the election of 608 rank-and-file union members to public office across the state, giving our members an important voice on important public policy matters.
