Announces Endorsement of Joseph Lagana for Assembly in District 38
TRENTON – The New Jersey State AFL-CIO Executive Board voted unanimously today to endorse Newark Mayor Cory Booker for U.S. Senate and Paramus Council President Joseph Lagana for Assembly in District 38.
With regard to the race for U.S. Senate, New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech stated, “Mayor Cory Booker offers a fresh progressive vision for building consensus in Washington while maintaining a staunch commitment to fighting for the core values of our middle class.”
“Mayor Booker has built a record as a champion for the Newark community, taking on poverty and crime as well as fighting to foster economic growth and provide good jobs and opportunity to working families. The vision Mayor Booker will bring to the U.S. Senate will be one of compromise, compassion, and fighting for the common good.”
President Wowkanech further stated that, “The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is proud to endorse Joseph Lagana for Assembly in District 38. Lagana understands the challenges facing working families in our state and will be a strong advocate for uplifting our middle class. Lagana will provide leadership on creating jobs, delivering long-overdue financial relief to working families, and working to expand economic opportunity for all New Jersey families.”
