Congratulations to Brother Robert Lane, IUPAT 711, who was recently selected to fill an unexpired term on the Neptune Township Committee. His appointment marks the 875th victory of the labor candidates program in its 19 year history.
Brother Lane is also a graduate of this year’s New Jersey State AFL-CIO Labor Candidates School, which provides union members with unrivaled instruction on how to run and win an election campaign. These lessons will certainly aid Brother Lane as he stands for an election this November to retain his committee seat. The school is also the reason that more than 140 union members continue to hold public office in our state.
These victories would not have been possible without the continuous and generous support of our affiliates, Central Labor Councils and Building Trades Councils. We look forward to building on the outstanding success of this program with dozens of labor candidate victories in November.
