More than 40,000 Verizon workers have been on strike for four weeks and our efforts are taking a toll on Verizon. The incredible news coverage and public support pouring in would not have been possible without your support, and we cannot let up now.
There are three things you can do to take our efforts to the next level. Please encourage your friends and family to do the same:
- Adopt a Store: Mobilize your members to picket a Verizon store or location for a minimum three-hour shift, 2-4 times per week, through the end of June. Please e-mail Seth Hahn at shahn@cwa-union.org. He can direct you to targeted stores and where to get leaflets and picket signs.
- Contribute to the Strike Fund: Please CLICK HERE to contribute online, or make a check out to “Verizon Striking Families Solidarity Fund” c/o CWA, 501 3rd Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. Contributions will go to striking CWA and IBEW members.
- Consumer Pressure: If you are a Verizon customer, be sure to express your concerns to the company and urge them to agree to a fair contract. If you know Verizon consumers, encourage them to do the same.
This is not a Verizon fight, this is not a union fight; this is a fight for all working families who play by the rules, go to work every day, and are simply trying to make ends meet. By lending your support to these efforts we will ensure that justice prevails for workers and our communities.
