Billionaire businessman Carl Icahn has repeatedly shown his callous indifference for casino workers by forcing thousands out of their jobs and stripping away health care and retirement benefits from those who remain on his payroll. Now, he’s threatening to go through with a plan to close another Atlantic City casino unless the state and already struggling city come through with a massive and unrealistic aid package.
It’s time Icahn hears from our friends and allies. If you believe in good jobs, if you believe that union-busting is disastrous for the state’s economy and the middle-class, if you believe working families deserve to maintain a decent standard of living, MARCH WITH US!
We are joining 1,000 of our brothers and sisters at UNITE HERE Local 54 in a march from Trump Taj Mahal to Tropicana (both Icahn properties) to demand that the billionaire tycoon stop holding casino workers hostage to his bottom line.
Date: Wednesday, November 19th, 2014 |
Time: 5:15 p.m. march; 5:45-6 p.m. remarks |
Place: Trump Taj Mahal, 1000 Boardwalk, to Tropicana Casino & Resort, 2831 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ |
Icahn’s hostile, anti-union actions are unfair to workers, unacceptable to organized labor, awful for Atlantic City and disastrous for the state of New Jersey. Let’s stand up for all that we believe in and MARCH in solidarity with UNITE HERE Local 54!
See you on the Boardwalk.
