The labor movement has done it again. After years of collective advocacy, education, and statewide engagement, our efforts to enact an Earned Sick Days law will come to fruition in a few short days. Therefore, we hope that you will join us next week as the Governor signs this legislation into law, ensuring that no New Jerseyan will have to choose between their health and a paycheck.

This law will benefit workers, businesses, and community health, and the labor movement is proud of the leadership role it played in making this a reality. We also thank prime sponsors, Senator Loretta Weinberg and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, for their unflagging resolve in support of this bill. Furthermore, if not for the coordinated efforts of organized labor and our community allies this victory would not have been possible.
As we all know: elections have consequences. By electing Governor Phil Murphy, pro-worker legislators, and dozens of rank-and-file union members to public office, we are now realizing the benefits of our political engagement. With Earned Sick Days and Equal Pay bills both signed into law this year, we are on a roll and with your continued support we will keep the momentum going.
Once again, thank you for all you do, and please join us to celebrate our collective victory on behalf of all working families next Wednesday in Trenton.
