Our IBEW 351 brother, Rep. Donald Norcross, has achieved so much since New Jersey voters elected him to Congress last year. Today, we celebrate his being named to the House leadership team by House Democratic whip Steny Hoyer.
Rep. Hoyer has named Brother Norcross as assistant whip, a position rarely bestowed on a first-term Congressman.
In his short time in Congress, Rep. Norcross has proven himself to be a strong, dedicated and steadfast leader. As a lifelong champion of working people, Brother Norcross brings a valuable perspective to the House leadership position. As our friend and partner, we also know he can be counted on to enact policies that create well-paying jobs and support economic growth needed to build strong communities and sustain a vibrant middle-class.
As a member of Congress, Brother Norcross is the highest ranking officeholder among the 819 election victories that the New Jersey State AFL-CIO’s Labor Candidates program has achieved. His election is a prime example of the success we achieve when we all work together in solidarity.
As he begins his new role, Brother Norcross has our best wishes for success and our unwavering support for all he does. On behalf of the working men and women of our state and our extended union family, we congratulate Brother Norcross on his well-deserved achievement.
